        As a revolutionary English school for the new teaching concept "immersion," New Start is committed to creating an all-English learning environment that is to develop thinking and communication in English for all time. Its innovative teaching ideas and scientific modes of teaching have brought New Start enthusiastic teachers from Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia, as well as those whose passion are teaching and traveling from all over the world.
        Guilin landscape tops those elsewhere, and Yangshuo landscape tops those of Guilin. Situated at the center of Yangshuo County, the world-famous West Street has become, since the 1980's, a window of eastern and western culture and the biggest 'foreign language center' in China. West Street is the most prosperous district in Yangshuo, and, each year, approximately 100,000 foreigners come here on their travels or to attend advanced studies. Visitors are attracted to West Street by its unique mix of cultures. If you take a walk on West Street, don't be surprised if hear English words spoken by elderly Chinese women, that is because English has become their “first language.”
        Ever since New Start first started running, its team has been working to create an authentic English language environment. In China, an all-English learning environment has just been carried out for a few years. Many training institutions emphasize the importance of all foreign teachers. However, New Start believes English learning needs to be quantifiable if to really benefit those who are to keen to learn the language. At New Start, teaching target and learning purpose are planned out clearly. Each student must pass a daily test before the end of class. This would be an example of the implementation of quantitative model.
        Oral and listening are two weakest aspects of English learning in China. It’s fairly common for Chinese students to reach zero success after spending a great deal of time and money. By simulating an all-English living environment, carrying out a scientific classification for teaching, implementing quantitative teaching content, through strengthening and influencing the students, New Start aims to unconsciously improve its students’ English. Experiment proves that using such an all-English teaching method is the most effective way to study English.
        New Start’s linguists have selected a wide range of domestic and foreign textbooks; their round-the-clock assistance assures the students an all-English learning environment. According to the actual level of each student, small classes of a maximum 8 people are divided to 6 levels. Teachers will do student evaluations once every two weeks to determine if a student is to be upgraded. At New Start, teachers and students live and study together.
